First State ( Diamond State )
Delaware is like a Diamond . It was the first state to ratify the new USA Constitution. It did so on December 7, 1787. And because of this Delaware is given the first position in such national events as presidential inaugurations.

Dover is the capital of this state.

Unlike all the other states in the United States, Delaware does not have any National Parks systems. This includes no historic sites, battlefields, or national parks.

The highest point of the state is 442 feet above sea level. This is in New Castle County.

There are 1,450 bridges in this state and almost 30% of these were constructed before the year 1950.

This state is known for “Fisher's Popcorn”. This is a type of caramel corn. It is so popular in fact that people from all over the world order it.

Delaware is home to one of the largest frying pans in the world. It is 10 feet in diameter and can hold nearly 200 gallons of liquid.

In this state it is illegal for anyone to fly over a body of water of any type and size unless the aircraft they are in has essential food and water supplies.
